Enduring Strength

Dear Ones:

Faith requires strength and courage.  In the first chapters of the book of Revelation, Christ addresses the individual churches in Asia Minor.  “To him that overcometh” is a phrase He uses repeatedly.  There are many enemies to faith.  Not only do we live in an atmosphere of unbelief but we are faced with powers of darkness which actively seek to keep us from an attitude of faith. Christ wants to communicate to us His strength that we might overcome our enemies.  He wants us to believe Him for this.  The strength He provides is His very own.  It is sufficient, it is limitless and He imparts it to us in response to our faith. A Morning Act of Faith

Dear Ones:

In Handley Moule‘s “A Morning Act of Faith and Devotion,” he begins by writing:

Handley Moule

“I believe on the Son of God, therefore, I am in Him,
having redemption through His blood, and life by His Spirit.”

Moule begins his day by taking a stand of faith.  He has understood that this is the principle by which he must live if he is to be in the position to receive all that he needs from Christ.

“He is in me and all fullness is in Him,
To Him I belong by creation, purchase, conquest, and self-surrender:
To me He belongs for all my hourly need.”

Faith in the fact of Christ’s existence and the belief that He is truly what He has declared Himself to be is the beginning point, the foundation upon Continue reading

Anna Letitia Waring

In A.L. Waring‘s great hymn, “In Heavenly Love Abiding,” she writes:

In heavenly love abiding,
NO CHANGE my heart shall fear;
For safe is such confiding,
For nothing changes here.”

It is a great day when we come to grips with the changeless Christ in the midst of ever changing circumstances. It is a wonderful day, for we Continue reading

Put Your Armor On

Dear Ones:

WE ARE WHAT WE CHOOSE TO BE.

In Charles Wesley‘s great hymn, “Soldiers of Christ Arise,” we read:

pastedgraphic-2016-04-8-17-49.png“Soldiers of Christ, arise,
And put your armor on,
Strong in the strength which God supplies,
Through His eternal Son;
Strong in the Lord of Hosts,
And in His mighty power,
Who in the strength of Jesus trusts,
Is more than conqueror.”

What happens if the soldier does NOT arise, and put his armor on?  What happens if the soldier does not trust  the “strength which God supplies”?  He will be trampled upon.  He will Continue reading

Interposing Christ

Dear One,

To know ABOUT Christ is not the same as having a true experiential knowledge of Him. Head knowledge is not heart knowledge. It is essential to have a knowledge of the truth but we shall not know true freedom of soul and spirit, nor will we know victory in our daily living without personal fellowship with the Son of God. It is in personal fellowship with Him Continue reading
